Saona Island with Canto de la Playa, Mangroves and Mano Juan 

The tour starts with a convenient pick-up directly from the lobby of your hotel in Punta Cana. The pick up is usually around 8:00 am in a comfortable vehicle, only for your group. Our professional driver will take you directly to the village of Bayahibe where we will head towards Saona Island. The transfer takes around 1.5 hours and just before arriving in Bayahibe we will make a 20-minute stop to go to the bathroom, have a coffee and buy some snacks (keep in mind this will be the only chance to use the bathroom till lunch time).

Once we arrive in Bayahibe we will join the other customers and start the adventure! On board our speedboats we’ll explore the entire coast of the National Park of the East (Parque Nacional del Este), enjoying its beautiful landscapes composed of white sand beaches and luscious palm trees. The ride will be at high speeds and bounce around, so be sure to secure all hat, eyewear, hairpieces, etc

After a 1 hour ride around, we will reach the main destination of this tour: the last and most remote beach of Saona Island called “Canto de la Playa”. It is considered the most beautiful and unspoiled beach, where the large crowds of tourists do not arrive. We will have drinks (rum & coke) and a snack during the time at the beach. Here we will stay approximately 2 hours enjoying the gorgeous beach, taking photos, sunbathing and snorkeling if you want to (bring the snorkeling equipment in case for this activity as it’s not included). Please note that Canto de la playa is a virgin beach and there are no facilities around, not even bathrooms. Also you must bring your own towel if you think you’ll need it.

After being on this beautiful beach we will leave again to reach the town of “Mano Juan”, a small town where the natives of Saona Island live all year long. Around 1:30 pm we will enjoy a tasty Dominican-style lunch that includes white rice, chicken, pork, potatoes, pasta, salad, bread and also coffee at the end. Lunch time is about an hour and after lunch we will have the opportunity to visit the Turtle Sanctuary in the same town of Mano Juan, where we can learn important information about the nesting and birth of the turtles in the island. (This foundation is sponsored by the same tourists who visit Saona, so if you like to have the opportunity to support them by buying something they truly offer like coconut oil, home-made honey and other products, you will be more than grateful).

After that we will move and stop at the Mangroves area. Mangroves are plants that live in water and they house a great variety of marine life. We will spend a few minutes here and the staff will provide us interesting information about the importance of these mangroves for the island.

We will then reach the gorgeous Natural Pool, a shallow area with crystal clear turquoise water (this is the largest Natural Pool in the entire area, with a dimension of several square kilometers and only one meter deep). There we will spend some time enjoying a bath, making a toast with cola & rum, and taking photos with the giant starfishes.

Now the fun part of the excursion begins! From the speedboat we will move to the catamaran to continue our tour. Music, drinks and a great animation are the perfect mix to have lots of fun! The staff will give us the best entertainment and we will have an open bar during the whole cruise! The catamaran consists of two levels, the one below to party and the one above for those who want to relax, enjoy the views and take wonderful photos.

After an hour and a half of a fun cruise our trip will be over and we will be back in Bayahibe around 4:30 pm where our driver will be waiting for us to transfer us directly to our hotel in Punta Cana.

• For hotels in Uvero Alto, Cap Cana and close to the airport we require 10 USD extra per person due to the distance.

In case a customer after booking a tour wants to cancel or is not more able to take part on it we will provide the full refund directly on the card used for the online reservation if the cancellation is required BY EMAIL within 24 hours before the starting of the tour.

Cancellation must be required BY EMAIL, (or by text in case) in order to have a written proof showing the exact date and time the customer asks to cancel. We will not accept cancellations by phone.

If the cancellation is required less than 24 hours before the starting of the tour due to any reasons (such as illness, change of personal circumstancesm, etc) and the customer is not able to reschedule, we will keep the deposit paid in advance or the 50% of the total price if the customers has paid in full.

In case the tour itself is cancelled due to weather conditions or other not ordinary reasons, the customer can choose if reschedule the tour or receive the full refund.

This policy DOES NOT apply for large groups of 10+ people where the cancellation is required at least a week in advance to get the full refund.
